Supporting organizations for which a person may have an affinity during lifetime is a common estate planning issue. People who have such interests commonly address these wishes in their estate plan. Depending on the nature and size of the gifts, various means can be used to achieve the goals in mind. Furthermore, there are several advantages to charitable giving from which an estate may benefit. These advantages should be considered in evaluating the means chosen to bestow such gifts.
